The Djabe music room was a great success of last year’s show: The number one Jazz/World band of Hungary showed off their High-End quality vinyl albums and analogue master tapes at the event. In 2019, they return to the Hilton Budapest City Hotel (Tokaj Room) and introduce their novelty vinyl LPs on 192 m2 on 26th and 27th of October.
Djabe: Táncolnak a kazlak – 3LP box
Half-speed cut, Abbey Road Studios, Miles Showell által Gyártó: Record Industry, Hollandia, 3 × 180 gr, 5 × 45 RPM, 1 × 33 RPM
Sheafs are Dancing is one of the most successful albums of Djabe, now on vinyl in 3LP box, available beginning the 20th Anniversary Hifi Show! The album is of the best analogue quality available today. Attila Égerházi personally produced the new master tapes which were used for the cutting by one of the most well-known mastering engineers of the world, Miles Showell (Abbey Road Studios), at half-speed to create the lacquer masters. These were used to manufacture the vinyls at Record Industry (Netherlands), the best European pressing plant. For the best audio experience the speed of the records is 45RPM. The nearly 80 minutes long material, originally released in 2003, takes up 5 sides, while the 6th features bonus tracks from the 2007 Sipi Memorial Concert, on 33 RPM. Compositions were chosen from Sheafs are Dancing and feature guitarist Steve Hackett (Genesis); as it was the first ever album on which Steve made an appearance. Sheafs are Dancing is possibly the most successful Djabe album ever released and brought international fame for the band. It was nominated for Best World Music Album of the Year in 2003, received the international PRince Award in 2004 and nominated for Surround Music Award in Los Angeles. These ompositions of Tamás Barabás (bass guitar) and Attila Égerházi (guitar) were inspired by the works of one of the legendary painters of the Hungarian Great Plain, Imre Égerházi. The beautiful packaging is also key in recreating the unique atmosphere of these paintings. One awesome feature of the Djabe showroom is a good portion of the original paintings being exhibited on location. Sheafs are Dancing vinyl and master tapes will be presented on High-End equipment by Sonus faber, McIntosh and Audio Research, and first time in the history of the Hifi Show events, in live also! High-performance McIntosh amplifiers and Sonus faber Aida speakers guarantee the best musical experience for the audience.
This release is available in the GR1993 Records webshop.
